Hey guys, I used to have an old PS3 that I put kmeaw CFW on and used for quite a while. I ended up selling that a while ago but I had 2 or 3 broken ps3s. One worked fine but the bluray drive didn't work. This ps3 was on a low FW and I tried everything in the book using the bluray drives and logic boards from the other systems with issues to try and make this one work but I never was able to so I put it aside for quite a while hoping an advancement would be made.

It seems now that there is a CFW out, that when using multiman with it you can have perfect BR drive emulation for 100% game compataility. I would love to do this if it's possible since it would allow me to actually use my ps3 again however I have some questions since I am so out of date with this.

Which CFW do I need to do this with? Is there a guide on how to update my OFW then switch to the CFW properly if needed? My PS3 currently FW 2.30 in factory/service mod from my previous attempts to fix the blu ray drive. I don't know what the exact issue is but no matter how many/what combination of drive and logic boards I tried I could not get it to work, but as far as I remember I married the board to the motherboard so I figure it's worth a try.

I assume I just have to get out of service mode then update to a specific OFW then the CFW from there. I still have my ipod dongle set up and everything if these are still necessary so I'm hoping I'm good to go. Any help or advice on what to do in my situation would be much appreciated, I'd like to get this console working again if possible.
