Been away from the scene for a while, need an update.
I recently transferred to a university and haven't had much time to play video games. My PS3 has been sitting in my dorm room gathering dust and now I'm on spring break, so I have a little time to play. The game I want to beat is Jak and Daxter HD Collection, but from what I've read the game requires a True Blue dongle. I'm thinking about purchasing one or a JB-King, since it seems similar and cheaper. My console is currently on 3.41 Hermes CFW and I have a few questions:
1. I understand that I must be on 3.55 OFW before updating to the True Blue 3.55 CFW, but what should the steps be? 3.41 Hermes --> 3.42 OFW (to remove the CFW) --> 3.55 OFW --> 3.55 TB CFW?
2. Most of my games have custom eboots to bypass higher firmware requirements. Now that I'm going to be on 3.55 FW, these eboots aren't necessary anymore. So my question to you is whether the custom eboots will prevent me from playing these games. If so, is there a website with untouched eboots because I would prefer to not have to re-rip a the files from each game.
Thanks.
