BBC iPlayer with Jailbreak PS3

Is it possible to use BBC iPlayer without the PS3 updating itself to the new firmware.

If so, can someone help me with some instructions how to do this please?

open the internet browser

If you connect the PS3 to the internet, won't it try to update the firmware?

nope first turn off the auto update

second it wont update unless you accept it .

is there any way i can use files from someone elses ps3 to display the 'tv' section on my xmb? i prefer the ease of it over going thru my browser

Guess the only worry is that Sony might decide to push out firmware updates without user confirmation.
