Backup and some questions.

Hey i have backuped game and in this folder i have PS3_GAME , PS3_UPDATE (its empty) and PS3_DISC.SFB and all of this weights like 13.5Gb. Can some1 tell me how can i put this on formated (FAT32) usb device or something ? There are any compressors or maybe tutorials how to get this to work ?

How To Play Games From Internal/External Hard Drive

For people using a jb usb and are not on the latest cfw please update to sony's original 3.55fw and then to Kmeah 3.55cfw it will save time,effort and hugely increase stability

I have included my own readme.txt with these files so read them.

Files Needed

Gaia manager v2.04 MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service This will boot our games.

Filemanager MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service This will transfer files from our external to internal hard drive

split4g MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service This will split our larger files so we can transfer them to external hard drive

This is a very simple tut. I will update constantly as I see fit to help you guys (and girls)

All Games I have tested work. I have downloaded unmodified games you should do the same

This tut assumes you have the game already and are on Kmeaw 3.55

I won't discuss FTP as you want to play them from an external. If you have an external there is no need to FTP unless you wish to wait longer.

The easiest and most reliable way I have found is using gaia manager, file manager and split4g.

Once downloaded install the GAMES.pkg from the gaia folder from a usb to your PS3. Split4g runs from your desktop not PS3. Filemanager has a pkg with it also install this via the PS3.

I have Heavy Rain and want to play it!!! Well heres how!

Firstly open split4g and make sure filename.#.part is selected in the drop down navigate to your game folder. Direct it to the game id folder that way it will check everything.



If no files are larger than 4gb

If no files are bigger than 4gb (which in this case there isn't) it will tell you there isn't.

Nothing else to do but transfer to your external

Example I have Heavy rain which has no files larger than 4gb. On my external I want GAMES/BCES00458/game contents.



Now open gaia manager on your PS3 and you will have heavy rain showing.Turn direct boot off and have an original PS3 game in the drive and hit x to load. It will return you to the menu and you will have a disc icon with heavy rain click and play. Edit. The latest Gaia manager does not have the direct boot option so you won't need to turn it off.

If files are larger than 4gb

Split4g will automatically split them in the right place. Once finished transfer in the same way as if there was not files bigger than 4gb open gaia manager. you will have an underscore before the game name i.e _God of war 3 which means it has split files IT WILL NOT BOOT. You need to use filemanager to transfer the game folder to GAMES folder on hdd0 it will automatically merge the files back. Start the game as I explained earlier.

I have tryed God of war 3, Heavy rain, Little Big Planet 2, God Of War Collection, Killzone 2 ,Naughty Bear and Demon Souls all boot first time.

Also you can rent a game or borrow one put it in your PS3 open gaia manager and rip it to external hdd it will split files bigger than 4gb automaticaly

Just make sure games are in correct directorys as this is the main reason they won't boot.

you are correct on the first part.

however, the hdd needs to be fat32.

What if the game says EUR or US or JAP... will there be any difference or does the PS3 recognizes any region with no problem?
