PS Jailbreak Compatibility List - Home for external/internal compatibility. I know CODBO needs a disk. Not sure about GT5. Also, if you backed up this game on 3.41, delete it and re-back it up. Also delete your game data via the game data utility.
I'm on KMEAW 3.55, again that's in the OP.
I just tried your method of backing out then going to the app_home folder and I get a new error: 8001009
I've even tried the modified EBOOT.BIN with no results.
Yes, but are you loading the game first. Searching these forums, that error is a indicator that you aren't backing it up from an original disk because the files are modified. Also, have you tried a different manager? I suggest trying Rogero 7.8 and use lv2-v1 or v2 package before launching and see if that changes it. Also, have you tried to run any games with a disk in the drive? Are you even sure your CFW is installed correctly?
Edit: Oh, and go ahead and point out one more time what's in the OP and what's not and you'll be sitting in this thread asking for people to help again, just like you were on the first page. I do this as a courtesy, not because I have to. You're the one that doesn't know how to boot a backup diskless. I'm the one that's coming in here to help you. If I missed something in your first post, I'm sure you can point it out in a slightly nicer way.
I installed 3.55 KMEAW from the official 3.55 OFW, in recovery mode. And what do you mean by loading the game first? I open Multiman, select GT5, choose no, go back to the XMB and then go to the app_home folder. Maybe I should delete the modified EBOOT.BIN and put the original back on and see what that does. And I've tried all methods, both with the disk and without.
Also, I've tried Gaia, Rogero and MultiMAN. And I've even tried version 6 of the LV2.pkg too.
Your eboot.bin is modified? That's your problem then. You need a fully original backup for 3.55 CFW, unless you're specifically installing the game as a PSN package (eboot.bin modifying / package creating). Re-backup the game (or replace the files you modified), and try again.
I just went back to the original disk EBOOT.BIN, I'm hoping that helps.
EDIT: Works like a charm now with Rogero! Thanks for the help chesh!
I really thought that this thread wasn't going to end well lol
Just an update, got it working with both GT5 and Black Ops. However, I tried NBA JAM and I went through the same process as before, except when I get reverted back to the XMB and then go to the app_home menu to choose the game, pushing X to start the game does nothing. I can see the NBA JAM icon and the background but nothing happens when I try to start it.
Not all games work diskless. Search the forums, stop being lazy. I read something somewhere today about NBA jam and I think it might not work diskless.
