Back Up HDD with CFW & Games to new HDD

Hi all

New member here, long time lurker but having an issue lately I was wondering if anyone could help me out.

I currently have a PS3 running 3.55 KMeaw with a 500GB HDD (upgraded when I switched to CFW). Since the HDD is getting quite full of games (PSN/Emulators/PS3 Backups) I'd love to upgrade it to a 1TB HDD now.
My only issue is how I should tackle such an upgrade without losing anything in the process (be it PSN games or back ups in Multiman).
Apparently I would need a USB with the CFW update too once the new HDD is inserted to "reflash" the same firmware (as far as I've read).

It would be really appreciated if someone could help me out since I can't figure out the best solution to this problem. Kind of clueless on how to start.

1TB is might be not fit to your PS3.
Because most of 1TB Hdd's is 1mm thicker than others.
640 or 750gb ones will fit.

Also about your question.
There is the easy way to do it.
But you have to use RebugCFW on your PS3 and you need the external hdd case for moving up.
I have never used but there is a option on "debug settings" (on RebugCFW) and prompt you to "if you do that all data transfered to usb hdd for hdd change" or something like that.

No, you don't have to go back to OFW for Upgrading to RebugCFW.
Yes, it's good if you update your RebugCFW package.
You have to install (on PS3, Rebug) 2 files on Package Manager/Install/Internal HDD.
And if you can't find these option on "debug settings" just change the "debug option 1 or 2" on Cex/Dex.
Just download on Codename: REBUG ! Other sources might be corrupted.
