Anyway to upgrade my internal ps3 drive?

any way i can upgrade my internal ps3 drive? mines 250 gigs right now. *without the use of the external drive because i want all my games on internal

Yep, run the backup utility to backup your data on your current HD. Buy a bigger HD and put it in. The PS3 will format it. Then run the restore utility to restore your data back again. You can go as large as 1.5TB (last I heard)

Don't forget to buy a hard drive encasement to use your original PS3 HDD as an external hard drive.

If you want to do a clean install, aka replace your current 9.5mm drive with another 9.5mm drive, the largest you can go is 750gb I believe. If you go higher, currently, the larger "2.5in" drives are 12.5mm and will not fit properly.

I just replaced mine with a 750gb that I got off eBay for $80.

I put a 160gb in my 40gb system and the ps3 wouldn't start, it said 'wrong HDD'.. anyone? Bueller?
