with all these new ps3 key updates...why not spoof 3.41 firmware as 3.55 firmware?
with all these new ps3 key updates...why not spoof 3.41 firmware as 3.55 firmware? –
in other words, is it possible yet to to "trick" the ps3 into installing 3.41 firmware thinking that its 3.55?
this isnt exactly the 3.55 spoof that's available...maybe someone else can explain better than me?
So you have an idea, but you don't even understand it? Get back in line.
no you buffoon,
think of it like this
firmware 3.41 must have an encrypted identifier somewhere in the pup stating its 3.41 right?
why not decode, rename it as 3.55, and re-encode?
that way, when the 3.55 firmware checks to see what firmware is being installed, it will install the spoofed 3.41 thinking its 3.55. make sense?
A more logical and easier approach would be to take the lvl2diag.self file that allowed us to downgrade, extract, put in the keys for 3.55, re-encrypt and use as the downgrade process. That's what you'll see first.
um maybe your not understanding the situation. **** spoofing and say good by to your dongles. The console is open now. Sit tight and wait for the CFW to roll in.

There will be no need to fake a 3.41 as 3.55. What will happen first is the ability to downgrade 3.55. After that, you'll see someone that will edit the 3.55 and put back in the USB key usage (remove the revoke list that was added in 3.42) so then we'll have a 3.55 jailbreak. After that, you'll see firmware get modified so that you can run unsigned code, etc (this is going to take the longest as the payload will have to be implemented into the firmware as we're using custom syscalls to do backup loading, etc).
