All Games fail to load from USB - SOLVED

I am on 4.30 Rogero V 1.04, was on 1.03

None of my games load from USB. They either boot back to XMB or black screen.

This did not happen yesterday. All games worked fine (some with USB Mirror mode but fine)

I was originally on MM 4.09.00 and this morning I decided to upgrade to 4.11.11.

So first I deleted then re-installed Last Game, GameData3, and BDRESET3, then installed MM. (I had some prev problems with LastGame which is why)


I was having trouble launching one game on CFW 4.3 so I tried fix permissions in MM to see if that did anything... it did not. Then I went to go play another game to which I found exited straight to XMB now, in fact all my game fail to load now!

I didn't know what caused it (deleting/reinstalling LastGame3 etc, updating MM, or using fix permissions) so I tried deleting/redownloading/reinstalling MM to see. Switched to Standard payload (also tried hermes to no avail.) and it still didnt work! Tried fix perms. again and nothing.


Downgraded to 3.55 Rogero and my games work again MM and everything. Then tried updating back to 4.30 v1.04 and again games dont load!



Has anyone had this problem, I dont want to go so extreme as formatting and starting from scratchh again. Or maybe I should just stick to 3.55 if this is a know bug.

Like I said it worked fine yesterday and had for the last week, I even tried reinstalling MM 4.09 and it still doesnt work!



Any thoughts? Maybe fix permissions screws up 4.30? Thats the only thing I cant "undo"

You probably have 2 or more external USB's with games on them, if so you can currently only use one USB external with games on it at a time on CFW 4.XX this is a known problem.

Thanks PatrickBatman you just saved me from asking the external hd issue. Ill try that when i get home from work

OMG are you SERIOUS!! I will try that when I get home, I know I plugged in a second USB with the install files on it, and then after i installed GAMEDATA I noticed it created A GAMEI folder on that flash drive. I hadn't heard of that problem with 4.3 (I only have had the sorting/album problem).

If this works I will have to buy you a virtual drink.

Thanks SOOO very much PatrickBatman! I owe you big time.

Now speaking about "known" issues, is there a bug report page or something. I usually read threads to about page 100 or so, but dont remember hearing about that particular issue. Perhaps It would be a good idea to create a known issues page so that n00bs, and others having n00b-like moments have a quick referenece. I think it would be best opened by a mod or admin, close off comments, and just have little tidbits like, PS HOME broken, Demo mode, Only one external, sort/ablum problem, and any other I dont know about so that when people have a problem and go OMG wtf is this DEMO mode. They can read the page, and go ooooo, known issue fixed in v1.04. And then if a new glitch is found, it can be added to the page.

The main reason I think comments should be closed is that otherwise a lot of people dont read the OP, and just ask questions that have already been answered, and a lot of times the known problem comes about on page 104 of a news thread, or in a diff forum the member might not belong to and so its very hard to find the issue.

I had the same problem, connected my external hdd with games and my 2gb usb for patches. didnt release you can only insert 1 usb at the time
