I know the differents of it. LOL
But ...............
I'm hearing from a lot of comments that saying if you can't downgrade or you don't have a E3 flasher.
You can CFW for a example you on 4.25 OFW never be jailbroken or hack or anything and you can CFW to 4.30 like that
so can that be true.
and I just want the truth.
It's been talking about that for months maybe years?
On the web and comments from on here this website.
I just need answer if it's true or not?
and if is true do it work? and send me a link if it's true about it?
PS. Make your answer nice and clear please!!!!!

If your on any OFW above 3.55 then you cant install a CFW directly
You need a flasher to downgrade (make sure you have a model that can be downgraded, i never had to DG so don't ask me
plenty of info just use the search here or on google.)
Looking at your activity i see you keep asking the same questions and creating new threads, dont create new threads asking the same question

I still cant believe no one hack like geohot after 3.55
it time someone hack over that history
and stop buying e3 flasher to downgrade.
It a lot of work to downgrade to upgrade with a cfw
I just wish there someone make this happen again like geohot.
And sony can stoped and give up the battle
geohot did with apple and we can hack it whatever we want
sony still wont give up
thanks for the comment anyone else think it a way just slip it

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about or what hacking 3.56+ firmwares would actually entail.
Comparing the current situation to what it was when Geohot was active in the scene is misguided as Sony has plugged the leaks in their cryptographic methods. You need the private cryptographic keys in order to sign packages or firmwares that the 3.56+ firmwares would accept, or you need to find a series of really serious exploits in order to force your way in without those private keys. Obtaining the cryptographic keys when they've been applied correctly is impossible, it'd take thousands of years to obtain them (google wikipedia cryptography, and read.) As such the only course of action is finding those exploits, and well, there might not be any -- only time will tell us.

What if you get a job at Playstation (Sony) and then leak the keys? Or how about breaking into Sony and stealing the keys? Possible?

Sandbug
why do you keep following my post comments?
Do you have nothing to do just comment?
I said for the fact (they should have hack the ps3 FOR** others that don't have e3 flasher.)
Also like the psp, ipod, and etc....
that there firmware are hack with no problem.... why not ps3
that was my point.......
I already know everything you just said I do read a lot of comments in every site.
I really do like how geohot not scared of sony at all.
But my point is there always someone better and it been taking to long after 3.55 to do it
that what I was saying....
Not no downgrade or buying something that been sold out for months now....
I saying someone should hack every firmware version that come out to pis sony off...
I don't know where the hell you are reading here cause you keep reading wrong things.
Ps. If you don't like someone point of view then go to another planet or don't comment for the fact it true what I said they should break other version then 3.55 and it true what you said at the end (only time will tell us) and who will come on top. end of comment

Of course if you have access to the keys then you can leak them. The problem is that you'd have to land in a position with high enough clearance to actually access them: not everyone is given access to the keys, especially not a rookie programmer. The idea about breaking in and copying the keys, however, is entirely laughable. You'd have to know where the keys are stored and you'd have to bypass all the security, and quite likely access to the computer(s) with the keys is restricted both by physical obstacles (ID-cards and the likes) and network segmentation and filtering.

I'm not following your posts, I simply noticed a new thread on PSX-scene front-page and decided to respond.
Do you have nothing to do just comment?
At the moment, no.
I said for the fact (they should have hack the ps3 FOR** others that don't have e3 flasher.)
It's not a fact, it's an opinion. The equation 1+1=2 is a fact, for example, but a phrase starting with "they should..." is your projection of your wishes and feelings, not a fact.
Also like the psp, ipod, and etc....

For one, because they do not have a similarly low-level encryption scheme. Secondly, because there were holes in the firmwares.
But my point is there always someone better and it been taking to long after 3.55 to do it
that what I was saying....
Whether or not there is someone who can do it isn't affected by you complaining here.
Ps. If you don't like someone point of view then go to another planet or don't comment
If you don't want to receive responses to your comments then don't make public comments.

It call freedom of speech I can comment things the same like you.
This is no debate and it not a court room that you can quote everything I say.
And you wrong about fact with out will there nothing same should or could there wouldn't be anything.
Everyone learn that in school I not you. Dreams always come true some not that life.
Ps3 always have holes like right now 4.30 is a mess it could be hack if someone would do it but you don't believe in anything.
Anyways I tired If you got nothing to do watch a movie, or something or get a girl.
And I do listen and learn ok so comment someone else because you messing up my post ok bye

Well if you get a job as a rookie programmer then espionage becomes exponentially easier then breaking in cold with no connections whatsoever...
Just kidnap a few guards, bypass some security measures, and steal the hard drives. Haven't you watched Mission Impossible, Burn Notice, or Covert Affairs??
