80029564 OVER AND OVER
80029564 OVER AND OVER –
01-20-2011,11:14 PM
Grrrrrr
I am so stumped guys.
I was on 3.41 and everything worked swell with my jailbreak 1.0 on my 40gb fat. I then went
3.41OFW->3.55OFW->Waninkoko
And things got very strange. the controller will intermittently not turn the console on or turn off. .pkg files will often give me the 80029564 error.
So I went Waninkoko->3.55OFW->wutangrza
And Im still having the exact same problems. I cant even get the mew multiman to work. 80029564 no matter how many times I do 3.55OFW/wutangrza/geohot and how many different usb drives I use.
Am I missing something? Blackbox worked once I formatted a USB drive and put a new copy on (maybe it got corrupted?!?!) but multiman gives me the error no matter what.

Goto 3.55 OFW > 3.55 kmeaw and make sure you're using packages signed for 3.55.

Use Kmeaw CFW, Im sure all the new backup managers a packaged for this.
You see there are 3 different package types, the ones for geohot wont install on any other, and the other type made for 3.41 wont install on geo. Its all a bit of a mess actually.

@andyt12:
AFAIK there are only 2 types:
1. the "3.41" PKGs, which are debug packages. They're not signed, so if you try to install them on geohot/waninkoko/OFW you get a 80029564 error.
2. Geohot 3.55 PKGs. These are "retail signed", but not in the same way as some PKGs, so you'll get a different error if you're not on Geohot or Kmeaw.
TLDR: You can install BOTH kinds of PKGs on Kmeaw, but if the 3.41 PKG's EBOOT.BIN hasn't been properly signed[if it's a really old homebrew nobody's updated yet for example], you'll get a different error: 80029561 I believe it is, which means the EBOOT isn't retail signed.

Thanks for that explanation. I'll probably add that to the front page if you don't mind.

Feel free, but make sure to copy my edited post. I had a typo or two.

You obviously aren't reading anything on the front page of this site. Anyway, since you can't seem to search, here's a tutorial for you: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f187/cfw...rsation-76406/

Isn't error code 80029564 for corrupted downloads that wont load? Which, if the download was done through the PS3, is usually caused by faulty ram in the console?

I don't think error code 80029561 exists lol
Just throwing it out there but, isn't the real error code 80029519 when someone attempts to run a .pkg that is not signed with make_self_npdrm? Sorry just trying to clears things up here.
