There are plenty of people confirming bricks while using these steps just check the thread below before you do anything stupid.

The file posted here has the same MD5 as the one people are getting bricked with, plus Waninkoko himself has acknowledged there are problems with this patch.

3 slims and a 40GB Phat.

Maybe give some parcitulars about that fat ps3 like model, what firmware before you has before flashing etc. It would be prove or bust theory about bricked ps3 with 256 mb nand

I went from 3.41 stright to 3.55 too everything working fine! Apart gt5 seems that with modded eboot not working.
