Well, for a minute there I thought I posted in the wrong thread. After re-reading though, I realized that my last post was indeed in the correct place.

Indirect thats not quite right. you can only download and use those games if you are on the latest OFW and are willing to pay/they are free...

I said "If you are on official firmware....". Perhaps I should have indicated that you need to be on the latest?

I mean that it's not just the ps3 Firmware Videos that are fake.
there are psn card code generator "$20 etc" vids
and some on making your own jailbreak dongle from psjailbreak files

Hi guys

I'm quite new in the Ps3 world. I want to jailbreak my console(which I did I think but i also think it was fake). My problem is i have no idea how to copy the disc onto the HDD(if its a way to do it) and/or how to upload the games what i have downloaded.
Please help!

You need to jailbreak your PS3 first. If you're not sure if you've done that, then I would bet that you didn't. Do you have an option in the game menu that says "Install PKG"?

that's right, you need to jailbreak your console first. what firmware version were you using before you thought you had jailbroken your PS3?

I have Downloaded the cfw from this site
,followed the instructions and everything went fine(I think) After I have restarted the console the menu what's shows the firmware says 4.11(which was before) but doesnt say anything else. No "Install PKG" in the Game folder. Also when I've done the "upgrade"(I had the 4.11) It said its not the full version of the cfw and will be posted on a website. I went on but the site says its frozen or something. And also every time I restart te console after the update it says the hhd been compromised. Please let me know what must I do. It seems the console turns back to its normal fw?

If you were on 4.11 when you tried this jailbreak then it won't work. You need to downgrade to 3.55 first. In order to do that, your console had to have 3.55 or below installed at the factory. If so, then you can downgrade using a progskeet or e3 flasher. Once downgraded to 3.55, you can install a custom firmware(jailbreak) very easily. What is the model number of your console?

Sorry if this is an FAQ. What is it about firmwares post 3.55 that make them impossible to break. Given that 3.55 was ages ago i think "impossible" isnt an exaggeration.
