3.70 spoof

I know this sounds absolutely ludicrous but I don't understand the whole "spoof" thing. I am running 3.55 kmeaw cfw and I saw a thread that said ultimate ps3 firmware with 3.70 spoof. Does this mean that I will be able to play 3.70 firmware games or is it something completely different. Thank you!

Nope. All it does is stop any system updates below the spoof number from happening, regardless if its from a disc or trying to go online. The spoof wont play newer games or allow PSN access. It is kinda useful if you have kids, siblings or roommates that wont stay away from your system. Oh and the newest spoof is 3.72.
