Hi guys, i was searching for an answer to my question and I even emailed E3 tech to have some further information about that and I got nothing.

I have here a slim PS3 with 3.56 OFW stuck in service mode... I was thinking about a solution: upgrading it to 3.72 and then use the E3 flasher to downgrade it to 3.55 CFW (their CFW thou). Would it be a real solution?

    Thanks to you all

i was in your same state 3.56 factory/service mode could not get in recovery mode did the 3.72 update and got the red screen error so dont do this hope you see this before you do
the steps i took so far is reformatting hard drive and brick fixes with usb but no luck for me now i have a ps3 black screen turns on solid red light 1 beep shuts off after maybe 1 min max
i also took battrey out for an hour but still in that state i was thinking about e3 flasher next but not sure how it works good luck to you and if i find a fix ill post it
