i tried that, i put it in my OFW ps3 just to see if it would work on a 3.41 or lower PS3 to get to 3.55 but it said " no applicable update data was found". would it say the same on a 3.41 or lower ps3, or is it just saying that bc its on 4.11?

It's saying that because you're on 4.11. You'll need a hardware flasher. Look into the e3 flasher or progskeet

i know, i was just testing it to see if the OFW ps3 could find it before actually using it on a 3.41 ps3, because i didnt wanna have my 3.41 ps3 ready to update to 3.55 , plug the usb and it not even work.

Very nice information here. Moreover as I see, this question is very actual for many people indeed. Personally I totally agree with author opinion about this subject and I think that it would be really interesting to create such discussion with other this website visitors.
