3.55 FW using luisgarcia87 guide problems

Well...I had success with the jailbreak. added gaia and Multimanager. also added ENGA and LV2 just in case that was the problem as i was getting black screen. My disk drive will not work so there is no disk in the console.

I was able to get in MM for a bit with an internet connection but a few of the options requested me to insert disk cant....installed Ftp my Programs were in a list I could scroll down and up (right way) through but now they are in a single line under games and I get black screen again.

booted a few times and now when it boots up it shuts itself off after 10 seconds or so.

For you I would have recommended going with 3.41 CFW. If you're a dongle owner, I'd recommend downgrading for the best disc-less support. If not, then just forget about that. If you're interested, you could look into re-marrying a functional blue-ray to your ps3. There's a guide for that on this site. Another option is you could use Iris Manager. It has the best 3.55 disc-less support. Unfortunately, it's an abandoned project, but regardless it's very function. The one thing you need to watch out for is that you run Iris before any other payload such as lv2 or BDEMU2 or it won't run. Also, you shouldn't be using lv2 for running games. It's designed primarily for Linux.

I went through and deleted all my pkg's that I thought were wrong with just MM and well I got it to go into MM and started to download me a patch and it froze up. SO im wondering if I should just replace the drive and move on. Theres alot more to this than my 360. That was easy. anyway, suggestions or help is appreciated. Im borred so ill keep tinkering but im afraid this PS3 might be a lost soul

PS I downloaded PS3 media server as well might be just what I need for this to make it worth keeping...MOVIES for the win. But when I go to copy them they say corrupt.

Iris Manager is not abandoned D_Skywalk has just removed it from this site (he's still posting progress elsewhere) because of technical differences with Dean (multiMAN dev) and supposedly me trolling him. muliMAN should have the same disc-less support as D_Skywalk says Dean stole everything from Iris (actually Hermes) Manager

ya well its been sitting for awhile...i just had it shut down like 3 times and freeze twice in MM messing around with that. Prolly gonna stick with my Xbox Maybe if I get borred ill go buy a cheapo old Ps3 and give it a go again.
