I downgraded my Slim 3.55 last night back to 3.41 - no problems, issues or the sort.
Just follow the instrutions to a tea and you'll be fine. If in the worst case you do semi brick then its OK because you can use the 3.55 OFW with the lv2 file in service mode and it will restore your PS back to 3.55.
It has the exact same compatibility as when people were downgrading from 3.50 or 3.42. You can't downgrade lower than the firmware the PS3 came with out of the box. However this time around if you attempt it on a PS3 that isn't compatible, then it will brick, whereas before it just wouldn't do anything.
Ah cheers. Not sure if i am gonna do it, was just putting out feelers. Pkg's seem to be coming out every couple of seconds for 3.55 but we'll see.
I have a CECH-2503B, will this downgrade from 3.55 with the new method.
I didnt buy it new so dont know what factory firmware was.
Many Thanks
