3.42 Games out yet? –
09-27-2010,04:00 PM
Well sorry if this topic is posted again, but is there any game that requires 3.42 out yet? And if yes, can we run it on a JB PS3?
If not is there a possibility we can run those games with newer firmware requirements, perhaps patching them or something..

As of now I don't think so. The only 'game' requires 3.42 is the canadian netflix app and no one has found a way to bypass it yet (even with edited SFO).
When you have a question google got the answer.

I'm hoping that if Gran Turismo 5 does come out in November it doesn't require a FW upgrade. If it does, I might have to skip that game or wait until a workaround is found. Not willing to lose my jailbreak for just one game.

There will be a solution by then almost certainly. It took a while with the PSP...well a bloody long while before firmware checks were gotten round easily. Personally don't think it will be like that with the PS3, the PSP wasn't particularly well supported by "good" hackers as it was pretty boring console, PS3 will surely be different and things will happen a lot faster as it's a much more mainstream device....all imo of course

On the flipside, the PS3 is a very secure system, with loads of money gone into locking it down. The PSP's security was as soft in comparison.
I do agree with you that there is/going to be a huge scene around PS3, so fingers crossed things will develop sooner rather than later.
I disagree totally with your comment
PSP wasn't particularly well supported by "good" hackers
What makes you think that?

if richdevx's payload gets released(the one that lets your ps3 enter service mode).. i'm quite positive that these issues would be easily solved..

Totally. Demon Hades seems to be expediting that, lol. Everytime he flips off at the mouth, Mat Rich and the rest seem to make a big release just to rub in the salt,
fingers crossed

So in addition to that, we will be expecting CFW newer updates, like CFW 3.50 perhaps?
Just like the PSP?
P.S. Oh and another question. I've just ordered my dongle as well, can someone tell me what should i prefer between Internal and External HDD. Which type of HDD is faster, and what model should i prefer.

i thought F1 2010 required 3.42 or higher and that no one has managed to get round the fact the ps3 controller doesnt work if you can get it to boot!
