3.41 JB Ps3 w/ Dongle to 3.55 OFW Upgrading issues

Hello. I have a 3.41 downgraded PS3 that is JB with a Dongle. I want to update it to 3.55 OFW to use Geo's JB but I get a data corrupt error when doing so. I searched, but nothing solid came up with the searches I Was trying so I decided to post a new thread. I didn't get a note of the error code when it errored I just shut it off and put the PS3 into recovery mode by holding power then let it shut off, then press and held power again till it beeped 2x then released and tried to update from there but now it wants 3.56 or higher when its still on 3.41.

So I googled some and it said I need the lvdiag file and something else to put it back to factory settings to upgrade to 3.50 OFW then upgrade to 3.55 OFW to apply Geo's JB. Is this true? It's hard finding these files and I will need to search to see what I do with them.

But if someone can chime in and tell me thats what I need to do then so be it, but I would just like some clarification before I do the leg work tracking down the files. Thanks!!

You need to re-install the 3.41 OFW before doing anything else. Why use the dongle when there is 3.55 CFW in many flavours (Rebug, Rogero etc)

when i did this for someone that used a donglle i had to put it into facory service mode and put ofw 3.41 on as it was always telling me the firmware was upto date when clearly it wasnt after putting ofw 3.41 on i took it back out of f.s.m and updated to 3.55 ofw then to 3.55cfw if nothing else works maybe you could try this.

I JB the ps3. before 3.55 came out. now that you can use 3.55 without a dongle that is why I want to upgrade now.

Do you h ave a link for the 3.41 OFW because I can't find it, and how would I install it? Just goto apply update seeing its the same version thats currently on there? Or would I need to do something else?

i suggest to try to install rogero v3.1 before you do anything.

it very well could error on any firmware other than the firmware he is on OR the 3.41 OFW. i had a ps3 once that would take the firmware it was stuck on (3.41 Modified for downgrade), and the 3.41 OFW. but it would GLOD on every other firmware in FSM. it would also say firmware corrupted in recovery and retail mode. the only option i had was to use rogero v3.1 which updated without a hitch in FSM.

I encountered the same problem , what I did was , I downgraded again from 3.41 to OFW 3.15 then OFW 3.55 then to CFW 3.55

I have tried everything you guys have suggessted. Ive downloaded 3.41 OFW and I got 3.55 OFW but i can't update them i keep getting Data Corrupted etc. I put the PS3 into Factory Service Mode and now I can't update anything either, I keep getting the red screen saying in a bunch of different languages a fatal error has occured. I am really at my wits end I want this PS3 to work on 3.55 if possible, but I could even care less I just want Blu Ray playback on new blu rays.
