3.41 and jailbreak not working
3.41 and jailbreak not working –

I turned my PS3 on today and for the first time it froze. 3.41 official firmware with a blackcat dongle running Hermes 4.a I think. No problems at all until today. So I restart my ps3 and it loads fine but when I try loading games from Gai manager the screen freezes black and I can quit the game, but the game itself either resets or freezes on a black screen before it loads. When I tried an internal Red Dead Redemption game it stated that I needed more system memory even though I had 84 gigs free. Weird eh. Game worked fine last time I turned on my ps3 a week ago?
As stated still on 3.41, but using the 3.55 spoof with the dongle. The only thing thats changed is that I downloaded and installed game updates and was connected wirelessly. So I'm thinking its something in one of the game updates that screwed up my jailbreak. I'm presently restoring the ps3 to factory settings and I'll test again. Might be something as simple as a corupt gai manager file but I thought I should report it incase Sony is trying to disable jailbreaks through game updates.

If you haven't restored to factory settings yet, I'd say just do a hdd rebuild from recovery first. Might just be some corruption.

Already started on the full format. I'm an all in kind of guy. I'll test in 12 hours I guess and see if the jailbreak works. Then if it works I'll test with game updates until it stops working again. I was considering using the new custom firmware but now I'm curious and will wait a few more days.

So after a full restore my jailbreak works 100% with a dongle on 3.41. I am going to try to recreate the problem by reinstalling my games and then updating them again to see if it breaks the jailbreak function again. It really might have been something unrelated but better to find out for sure.
