no need to buy anything except you need a flash drive .

if you use this tutorial you cannot use 3rd party controllers .

If you have a fully functioning PS3 and dont have use bootleg controllers you may want to do a little reading up on Kmeaw CFW for 3.55 consoles. Best bang for buck(free, so well worth the update).
