***PSA FAKE***3.60 Jailbreak going around is actually OFW or possible BRICKWARE

Some guy around the net with username HACKLIKEITSMYJOB is going around various torrent sites such as TPB stating he has a working 3.60 JB and to download it and the usual blah DO NOT FALL FOR IT. A friend of mine downloaded it and its the actual OFW 3.60 so if you fall for this your going to either go legit or brick.

Hey everyone. I'm sure you all have been waiting. It's finally here!!! This is the easiest and only way to jailbreak the PS3 on the newest version (3.6)!!!

Instructions:
1. Grab a FAT32 flashdrive
2. Create a directory like this in it: PS3/UPDATE
3. Transfer the file to it.
4. Plug into PS3
5. Go to system update
6. Update from external media (not internet)
7. Something like 3.6-jb will show
8. Hit ok
9. You're DONE!!!!

I dont understand the need of some people now a day, why do things like this? its sad that people like that are out there, i hope no one falls for it, tho i know thats inebitable now a days

Well I always feel that if you're too impatient to check a file out before using it or let others check it out if you don't know how and leave comments then you probably deserved it. Not saying I want a ton of people to fall for this type of trap just saying if it happens then it was his/her fault.

One thing I always wondered though is why people invest their time into stunts like this.

I think no one who visits this forum now and then would be stupid enough to install that sh*t.

If it would be possible the whole forum would be full of it... I ony trust PSX-scene and PS3HAX

I dont think its someone who's working for sony there are mutch jailbreak haters out there. I read this on a dutch forum: I hope everyone who runs custom firmware his PS3 explodes, cause the only reason to have it is piracy

Yeah, what a waste of space. Just tried this on my second legit PS3 and it just updated me back to 3.60 OFW.

This is why I always have spare ps3 to check things out before I actually do it on my main one.
