since it acts like a normal usb i'm saying it should work, i'm however doubting you can reach wireless speeds to stream those files to your ps3 fast enough for the ps3 to read it.
I'm thinking this will fail due to transfer speeds, otherwise it's probably possible

From the blog :
Today, the IUM Drive is an WiFi Access Point providing upto 300Mbps (802.11n)connection which is quite amazing given it’s size. The Host PC connects to the IUM like it would any other access point and the files are shared over this dedicated WiFi connection.

General Specifications:
Platforms Supported: Windows, MAC, and Linux
File System Capabilities: FAT32 and NTFS
Interface: High Speed USB 2.0
this should be good to go
I have found that when using my ext HDD to run backups the read/write light rarely lights up during gameplay. Given that a 100 megabit per second network translates to approx 12MB/s at max (we know this already, PS3FTP App?) And USB 2.0 runs at around 35MB/s max (burst) assuming it has enough power as USB2 ports are limited to 500ma each, maybe this is why some games fail for some and not others? the transfer rate cannot be sustained (thats why some 2.5in drives come with 2 USB A plugs) - for power

$129? Where is the description for that product? They don't have one! I find that odd because almost any product you buy online has a description dialogue listed for it.
Edit: Nevermind, I finally found it here: http://www.infinitec.com/ium_drive/features.php
