[Q] Updated CFW Software and etc?
[Q] Updated CFW Software and etc? –

I just had my PS3 reflashed back down to 3.55 OFW, and since it's been a while since I've messed around with any of the PS3 CFW/Homebrew + software, I came here trying to find updated versions. I tried searching for all of this before posting ofc, was mildly successful, but I still have some questions.
First, from what I've read CEX to DEX consoles allow us to play retail disks for newer games and still play homebrew/backups for earlier firmwares? What are the pros and cons of having a DEX console?
Second, assuming I'm CEX, what is the best CFW to use? I personally used Kmeaw back when it was released originally and I have basically no idea what the other firmwares can do or can't do better than others. The 3 I've seen the most are Rebug, Rogero, and Kmeaw.
Third, does F*ckPSN still work for PS3 at this moment? I've read conflicting threads from various websites that say yes and no.
Fourth, I know that Rogero 3.5 was updated with the 3.60 OFW public keys, but Rogero 3.6 was not (it was basically 3.4 with an updated spoofer). Does that mean that Rogero 3.5 can play OFW3.60 games but Rogero 3.6 cannot?
Finally, where can I go to learn more about Eboots, and how to fix them myself?

DEX can play retail discs, but it cannot play homebrew. Back ups can be played only if there is an official patch released for the game. This is done with the official BD emulator.
CFW is still where it was a year ago. Kmeaw will do everything you need.
I don't know much about the new Hermes CFW, but I've heard its buggy and of really worth it.
As far as fixing eboots yourself, again I don't know much about it. I would say its much easier to use fixes that are already done. They can be found at ps3scenefiles.com
