It's happened to me once after a crash in JB mode. I wouldn't read too much into it, that is, until you boot up and it says it has to format your HD because of corruption. Then you can be pissed.

Naw, it's just that if your console crashes too many times, you're bound to end up with HDD corruption and it'll first try to recover data (just like when you boot up a XP computer that was improperly shut down), and if that fails, it will ask to format. My suggestion is, stay away from the games that are known to crash, and always have the most up to date payload.

well i'hav been trying to keep up to date , the first crash happened when i tryed for the first time direct boot, but i searched and found that direct boot is trash, and stopped right there lol. And the second was when my bro just turned off the console in the power switch , hehe , thanks mate.

I had the same thing happen. All my settings reset.

Now I'm having trouble getting my amp to actually output 5.1 due to some setting thats messed up.

I had the same problem before and fixed it somehow, but I cant seem to figure it out this time around. Alot of people have my problem with my receiver (and others) it seems. Especially the receivers that combine 'pro logic and dolby digital' in the same audio selection on the amp.
