YOU WILL NEED:
Jailbroken PS3
Comgenie's Awesome FileManager OR
blackb0x's FTP and an FTP client on your PC/MAC/Linux
USB device of at least the size that your current PS3 harddrive is
STEP 1:
Boot up your PS3 with your PS3JB device.
STEP 2 (For those using the Comgenie method):
Boot up Comgenie's Awesome FileManager.
STEP 2 (For those using the blackb0x FTP method):
Boot up blackb0x's FTP app and also your PC/MAC/Linux client and make sure there is an active connection. I'm not going to give a tutorial on how to do that. There are plenty on this websites and others like it.
STEP 3:
Navigate into your PS3 where the Trophies should be stored. One guy said his was located at /dev_hdd0/home/00000001/trophy/NPWR01101_00 and that 00000001 was his USERID number. So your folder number may be different. My last 2 digits were 15. It's basically the first folder in the "home" folder.
STEP 4 (For those using the Comgenie method):
First make sure you have a USB device plugged into your PS3. Press right on your D-Pad to go to the right panel and navigate to your USB device and have it open. Once you do, press left on the D-Pad to go back and don't go INTO the Trophy folder. Just press O to copy it to your USB device. Mine only took like 40 secs to a minute. Times vary depending on your amount of Trophies and the quality of your USB device.
STEP 4 (For those using the blackb0x FTP method):
Basically all that you have to do is just drag and drop your trophy folder wherever you'd like to save it on your computer. I don't know the amount of time it should take, I used the Comgenie method, but I can only imagine it depends on the speed of your internet coupled with the amount of Trophies you have that need to be saved.
STEP 5:
Once thats done exit out of Comgenie's Awesome FileManager or blackb0x's FTP app so that you're back on the main XMB and then navigate to Settings/System Settings/Backup Utility.
STEP 6:
Make SURE that you have a USB device of the correct GB size to handle the backup of your PS3 filestructure. If not you'll waste like 2 hours for nothing. Once you have the correct size of USB device plugged in. Do a standard backup, the PS3 will walk you through it. Also note, the backup utility even makes a backup of the games you have installed on the harddrive. Mine was Rock Band 3. So if you want the backup to go faster, remove those games before the backup and add them back on later.
STEP 7:
Wait a while. Go do something. Go play outside. It's nice out there, plus the graphics are amazing. Once the backup process is done, you're now able to upgrade your internal PS3 HDD. I won't tell you how to do that either, there are a million tutorials for it.
STEP 8:
When you have the new PS3 HDD all formatted the XMB starts up. Go back to the Backup Utility and choose to Restore from a backup. Now wait some more.
STEP 9:
Now that thats done, reboot your PS3 using your JB method of choice. Start the game which you want to restore the trophies for from the original BD, it will install the locked trophies. Exit the game.
STEP 10:
Open blackb0x FTP and go to /dev_hdd0/game/LAUN12345/GAMEZ/GAME***ID/PS3_GAME/TROPDIR/ and see what the folder inside TROPDIR is called (NPWRxxxxx_xx).
STEP 11:
Copy TROPUSR.DATfrom [backup directory]/trophy/NPWRxxxxx_xx/ to /dev_hdd0/home/00000001/trophy/NPWRxxxxx_xx and replace the one that is already there.
STEP 12:
Start the game again from the original BD and it will load your backed up trophies!
STEP 13:
Repeat steps 9-12 for every game you want to restore the trophies for!
Now you're done! Please note that if you start the game from your hdd using a Backup Manager after you restore TROPUSR.DAT from your backup, you will get the following error:
Registration of the trophy information could not be completed. The game will quit. (80022Dxx)
That's why you have to start the game using the original BD. If you don't have the original BD, then you're f***ed, as far as I know!
