I have 3.41 fw and I want to update to 3.55 OFW. Now some may think why would you do that? Well I don't care about piracy and only kept 3.41 because my ps3 was taken away :wow:
But I was thinking of installing geohots cfw.
Will I be able to go on psn usuing legit disks and not get trolled by Sony for having geohots cfw?
More then likely Sony is collecting information about people signed in on Geohot's CFW to use against him. So, if you don't want to help his case, go right ahead (you selfish bastard :) )
Well his jailbreak for ipod screwed me over by messing up my friends itouch. I think I'll have to get some revenge :dance:
So do I just update to 3.55 then the Geo cfw?

Yes, I believe you have to install Geohot's CFW via recovery though. I'm pretty sure all the instructions are in the release thread for Geohot's CFW. And, no, you don't lose your backups. If you install the signed Comgenie's File Manager or Blackb0x FTP server, you should be able to get right back in and delete/edit/move any of those backups.
I heard it was only for phat versions? I have 120 gb slim.
Either way, if something screws up, you should still be able to install 3.55 OFW via recovery. I'd install Geohot's CFW via normal USB update method and if it says no applicable update found, you'll know that you have to do it via recovery.

Should I delete all homebrew from 3.41? Including backup manager.
Also how would I be able to use Rikus method? Launch games like psn games?

Essentially yes. I haven't done any of the new eboot hacking methods, as I'm still on 3.41 and plan on staying there (I got a 3.55 console too). All your homebrew will have to be reinstalled anyway, so I'd go ahead and delete it.
