Now that other partitions can be recognized, I think that a partition manager would be the next step, wherein new partitions could be created, renamed, and deleted. If there is any way to increase the startup times, it would be better as a boot elf. Maybe a small elf could be placed on the MC as the boot.elf which would just load the HDD irx files and use a cnf file to find the location on the HDD of the larger myps2 elf and skins - kinda like the way it starts now, only instead of loading the irx files and then loading the skins off the MC, it would load them right from the hdd. Speaking of startup, perhaps a particular background song could be chosen to play when the program starts? I also think it would be good to have an exit to boot browser or PS2 brower option.
There seem to be issues about loading other elfs from this elf. I tried a few programs that I frequently use only to see "Load Failed" appear. Also, some kind of one button program launcher or "recently used program" list to expedite starting other programs would be very handy. While customizing the skins I stumbled across a piece of unused code in the My Programs section called "Shortcuts" and I wondered what it was originally for. I believe it would be easier to manage files if instead of marking each file and moving over to another menu, you could push another button corresponding to copy, paste, delete, and rename - OR after marking the files, a dialog box of choices could appear by pushing Start for example.
A dixv movie player, HDLoader functionality, and a cheat device (to compete with the new Toxis OS) are all possible future expansions, but I wouldn't expect such radical additions so soon. But something simpler might be a text editor to modify the .xml files right there - it can be a pain running back and forth from computer to PS2 with a pendrive.
