I am currently making a myps2 skin and wanted to know
1) how i can change the boot (when myps2 runs the tests) background and text colour. I ve checked all the .xml files and found nothing.
2) what is background_.png (in the skins media folder) used for.
3) how does the colour coding work. i thought 0x803A8DD6 should show a blue colour but its more a yellow
Ill post my skin here as soon as Ive added these finishing touches.
this is not located in the skins directory or sub directories. I attached an example to be placed in the boot directory to edit this menu if you wish just replace the bkg.png with any .png file that has a dimension of 256x192 and rename to bkg.png then place the file in the myps2 " "boot" folder.Quote:

I think this is the underlay for the background.png; when/if the background.png is off center there you should see the background_.png, however most of the time I get screen garbage when purposely offsetting the Y/X positions.Quote:

000000 = black
FFFFFF = white
edit: basicly you need to reverse the D6 & 3A values.
Thanks for the help Ive finally finished my skin now but I cant give a link till I get 15 posts when I Register to Allps2skins Ill upload it there.

4) does background.png have to be that size (256x192 I think) or can i make it higher res without affecting myps2's performance/stability.
you can slightly increase the png dimentions (successfully); but given the limited vram of the ps2 (4mb), depending on the other png files called for by xml & the dimentions of those png images. you may experience screen garbage or BSOD.

Sorry for not posting my skins up i was on holiday. I tried to post the skins yesterday on all-ps2-skins gallery but iam having some trouble adding pics to my files. Is there something ive missed??
