    Hi everone,
I've got this problem when I try to download the Shoudcast radio list.
As soon as I click the button, it says something like "connecting to server" and then it says "Could not resolve hostname"...
WTF!? Does anyone know what I might have done wrong?
Has this got to do with the "login name" in the network settings?
    Please tell me

Login name only has to do with FTP. Try deleting all of your network settings and typing them in again. Also be sure that you are putting in the DNS server in correctly. Two ways of doing this is login into your router (if you use one) and check status or click on start-run and type cmd then type ipconfig /all.

Ok, thx, I'll try it out.
I guess the problem is my DNS adres.
I've been entering the LAN-DNS adres. (mine is: 10.0.0.1)
This could be because I was watching in my connection "LAN-connection".
BTW, are there other ways of finding my DNS, like a programme or something?

I can't get my DNS by:
-typing ipconfig/all in cmd, because somehow it will only display the LAN settings
-viewing the settings at Start->internet settings... nope, it doesn't display it.
-viewing the modem, because my modem says "Automaticly get DNS", so I still don't know what my DNS is.

Can somebody please help me out with this problem?
Are there other ways of getting my DNS adres, maybe using a programme?
    Thanks

How does your modem hookup? Network card, router, USB? I just typed in ipconfig/all (i use a router) and it shows the actual modem address, dns and etc. not just the lan settings. Otherwise call your internet provider and they'll be able to tell you.

In fact either address probably works, because many routers have an internal DNS server (or simulator if you prefer), so that you can address the router itself as if it were the real DNS server. It will then pass on all DNS requests to the real server negotiated with your ISP on the WAN port, and likewise pass the responses from those requests back to the requesting machines on your LAN.

This way the user never needs to deal with the 'real' DNS server, as the router will take care of it automatically, for all machines on the LAN. Those machines normally see the router as the only DNS server they know about, and that is most likely why you saw the router address as DNS server in ipconfig. I use this method myself, for my two PCs, with my Netgear RT314 router. That's a pretty old unit, so this feature has existed for a long time.

So if you have your PS2 connected to such a router, then you can use the router address as DNS server entry in configs of the PS2 as well.

    Best regards: dlanor

    I should have added this

when I set my router as the dns server in myps2 it still wouldnt resolve the hostname

when changed the setting to my isp's dns only then did it start working

I know either way should work but it may be a limitation of myps2

I think I'll ask my provider, because entering the modem adres (wich is 10.0.0.1) doesn't work either.

I also have the same problem, but myPS2 will read and stream the radio stations from a Winamp playlist without any problem. It might be better to select your favourite stations and do it this way.
