I have the same problem and done some debugging.

As you can see, name resolving works. myPS2 asks for the Name and the DNS
send the alias back.
I think the problem is myPS2 has to resolve the alias too.
I tried to put all Shoutcast addresses in mc0:/lmhosts but myPS2 doesn't care about and still uses DNS.
I modified my router to sent a static ip for *.shoutcast.com but that didn'T help either.
For me this looks like a programm error and no DNS problem.
