Faster start or what
Compressed has been run through ps2packer to make the executable smaller for use on media with limited storage (ie, memory cards).
No real tangible speed differences, but the 400+kb of space saved on the memory card do you let you have more game saves or other apps as well.
The compressed version mainly saves storage space, but for some mediums it also saves time, as the unpacking may be faster than loading the larger version.Originally Posted by vsub
There are also some technical reasons why we always include both versions in a release, and not just the compressed one. A few launchers, including some versions of 'ps2link', have had compatibility problems that depend on the 'loading address' of the ELFs. Having both packed and unpacked versions of the ELF has helped resolve some problems in the past, and may do so again.
But normally, when no such problems are to be tested, you can always use the compressed version. It's what I do myself.

I prefer using the uncompressed when i burn in CD's or DVD's. Im Memory Card case Compressed are the way...
