I have uLaunch on my memory card and all my elfs and whatnot on a 4gb SanDisk Cruzer Micro I was told I could format it to NTFS and it would work with UL, but when I did format it and tried using it UL didn't "see" the usb drive but it works fine when formatted to FA32.
Is there some setting in UL that I need to change or something to get it to read NTFS?

Also while we're on the subject of usb drives, is there a size limit that can be used with UL? Meaning if I where to plug in an 8gb or even a 64gb flashdrive would it recognize it?

Like others already said, NTFS is simply not supported at present. If/when someone makes a USB_mass driver with NTFS implemented, you can naturally use this too with uLE, as an external driver (configurable in 'Startup Settings...'). But as yet no such NTFS-capable driver is available.

Also while we're on the subject of usb drives, is there a size limit that can be used with UL? Meaning if I where to plug in an 8gb or even a 64gb flashdrive would it recognize it?
I have used it with a 320GB USB HDD, and I'm sure others have used similar drives too. The reason why some complain about large flashdrives not working is not really due to the size of the storage space, but is rather due to differencies in the USB protocol implementations.

I suspect that more and more manufacturers are dropping (or at least neglecting) backwards compatibility to USB 1.x standards. And since the PS2 only has USB 1.1, any drives with working support only for USB 2.0 are bound to fail with the PS2.

    Best regards: dlanor

    Ok.
So as long as the drive I want to use is 1.1 compatible it should work.
That works out even better, because the drive I wanted was 2.0 only and a similar one that works with 1.1 and 2.0 was about $14 cheaper.

Also be sure the drives are formatted FAT32 for the PS2.

Couldnt tell ya the limitations of USB device size, i've only used up to a 4GB USB stick and it worked just fine.

I think thats how it is for a PC, but it seems FAT32 is best with most newer homebrew and commercial apps with the many different types of USB devices now on the market used with the PS2.

I format ALL my USB sticks to FAT32 and only use FAT {FAT16} if it dont work as FAT32.

The only USB stick i have as FAT is a 16MB and only cause it wont format to FAT32.

because you need 32mb or higher to use FAT32

there is pc software called SwissKnife allows you to format (over 16GB) large HDD to FAT32 format
