USB Keyboard not working
USB Keyboard not working –
since i don't like usb keyboard and mice in my pc i thought i can use them in my ps2 but the keyboard doesn't work, i plug the keyboard when the ps2 is off and turn it on i see the three lights flash for a moment so it has recognized it am i right? but when i try to use it ulaunchelf i can't get it working, i unplug it and plug it and nope still not working, the usb port is ok because i use that port with the usb memory and works, and in the lower port the same, doesn't work, i've seen that ule has some config files to make the keyboard work right? so i guess i'll have to find one of those and maybe it'll work or any other ideas?

That doesn't prove anything. There are no USB drivers active at physical turn-on anyway. Those aren't started until the uLE ELF is launched.

Just to clarify one point:

There is absolutely no indication whatsoever that the keyboard is working.
The only difference is that some parts of the program will accept USB keypresses as alternatives to gamepad button presses, and for text input.
For example, when it does work you should be able to use Arrow-Up and Arrow-Down on the USB keyboard to navigate the uLE menus, using the 'Enter' key to activate menu choices. But even when doing this there is normally no indication on the LEDs of the keyboard.
I'm not sure I understand you correctly. Are you saying that the usb memory works in the upper port but not in the lower port ?
the usb port is ok because i use that port with the usb memory and works, and in the lower port the same, doesn't work,
If that is the case, then I'd say that the lower port is definitely broken. Both ports should work the same, for any USB unit.
You might try a Sony USBD.IRX but we can't distribute those, as that's illegal, and only a few of their versions are compatible with ours anyway.
i've seen that ule has some config files to make the keyboard work right? so i guess i'll have to find one of those and maybe it'll work
As for alternative 'USB Keyboard IRX', I'm afraid no useful alternatives exist.
We just added that option to avoid being locked to the embedded driver, in case someone makes a different one (but none so far). Using a different 'USB Keyboard Map' may help with some regional KB layouts, but it won't affect basic functionality (you just get a US layout with the default map).
Well, please don't take this the wrong way, but I hope you realize that there's also a setting for "USB Keyboard Used:" and this must be set ON (which is also its default value). If you've accidentally changed it to OFF, that will block all access to the keyboard.
Anyway, in the end we can't guarantee compatibility to all units. I only have one USB keyboard to test with myself, and I've no way of telling if it's representative of the average unit. And there are hundreds of types available, so I think it's inevitable that a few are incompatible. If available, try testing a different brand of keyboard, to see if that makes any difference.

i knew that, with the keyboard i can navigate through the ule menus, but i can't with my keyboard, also the lower port works i plugged my usb memory and i can access it, so both ports are ok, and the usb keyboard used is on, so i guess my keyboard isn't compatible, i'll get another one
