----- re: TV response delay at video mode changes
My own TV shows a small popup whenever a vmode is changed (like from 480p to 720p or whatever). But when I start playback of a movie from the SMS browser there is no such popup.
The signal remains the same 720p mode during movie playback as I had active in the SMS browser GUI, without any transition effects of any kind. If you start a playback in this way, I don't see how your TV can add any delays to that, since it shouldn't be able to 'tell' that anything happened at all. To the TV the content of the signal doesn't matter, but only the sync timing, and as long as that remains unchanged the TV should just continuously show the picture coming from the PS2 without caring if that is the SMS GUI or movie playback.
Then there is little point in it, and we should avoid using any IRX drivers that don't fill a good purpose, considering what a limited resource the IOP RAM is.I doubt we want multi-tap support for uLaunchELF. Last I knew the ps2dev driver didn't support for more than 2 memory cards even with the driver anyway.
I hope you mentioned this to Jimmi, as both he and we want the new MC drivers to be as fully compatible to Sony's as it is possible to make them (except for pure limitations, like that renaming issue).Yeah. I was getting a different return value for PS1 cards with the new memory card drivers.
I'm not sure how the switching works with that card, but for my 8-page X-Play card it had to be done by use of the gamepad on a real PS1, where the gamepad port and the MC port are apparently identical, so the MC can 'see' all gamepad transactions. On a PS2 this is not the case, so the MC just stays locked on the current page forever. So if you still have a real PS1 around, you may be able to flip the pages using that console, and then move the MC to the PS2. That works for my X-Play...I never did. When I got first got my PlayStation I went with the Mega Memory Card by Performance. Unfortunately with the PS2 I can only access the first card so much for 24 cards in one.
Good. I have added your v4.40b to my source collection and will use it as base for my future changes.OK, here's the full list of changes to ps2ftpd. I'll just consider it beta b as it's based off v4.40a.
