as there is a subforum now for ulaunchelf, wouldnt it make sense to have a new thread for each new version? maybe the latest stickied with the download-file in the first post?
just an idea *g*

Well EP i already had IOP reset on...Are thier any other known cause's for this problem.
Also i did also find another bug in ulaunchelf...IF you have Disk Controll on even after you press PS2NET and it load the FTP then it goes back to saying NO DISK without displaying the IP configurations.
Also as for the last bug I mentioned. I understand what Disk Seek is for, but is thier any way to make disk seek not check for a disk untill prompted to do so instead of not being able to look for a disk at all. I rather have launchelf only load a disk when i need it to. Instead of always reading it...if its in thier.,
Maybe it may come to that but neither I nor dlanor are admins. Also we would still have to talk it over.Originally Posted by niemand0815
Sorry the only other thing I can suggest is trying the uncompressed BOOT.ELF file. I don't have a modchip so I can't reproduce the problem you're having.Originally Posted by ddrfreak
Thanks for pointing this out as I have now reproduced it. I think I know why it's doing this so maybe a simple workaround can be implemented.Originally Posted by ddrfreak
Not sure the 'DISC CONTROL' just prevents the program from stopping the disc from spinning. Earlier versions of launchELF left the disc to spin when running from exploit for example. Later that was changed and LaunchELF stopped the disc from spinning on boot up. Then some users complained so 'DISC CONTROL' became an option that we have not touched in uLaunchELF.Originally Posted by ddrfreak
Well without Disc controll on if you have no cd in the tray ulaunchelf will nto boot correct...(or with it what ever)...Now i have a mod chip do i dont want nor need the disk to spin...But then if i decide i want to get a file/ or boot of a disk I would still like to be able to do so..
<G> Hey how's about that icon. The kibbler Elf is getting on my nerves.
Bugs update for ULE 3.41l:
1. Launchelf fails to launch .ELF files if the extention is not completely capitalized.
2. Launchelf always saves its config to mc:\sys-conf\, but it will still load config files in its local folder first.
Never could reproduce this.Originally Posted by rlbond
Not a bug but a feature. LaunchELF only saves its CNF file to where the program was booted from if and only if it loaded its config file from that location.Originally Posted by rlbond
icon for what? launchelf doesnt have its own folder. it saves to sysconf...Originally Posted by ddrfreak

HELP!i cannot boot launchelf there is no cnf file or anything else!Cant boot it at all anyone that knows how to boot it on ps2?ive written the elf file to a cd and nothing happens.i have a mesiah v7 chip.![]()
Of course there isn't any CD/DVD-specific file included. It's not intended for CD/DVD-specific booting only, but for general purpose usage. If you want to make a CD image, prepare that image as you would for any other program, including the SYSTEM.CNF file. I really don't see the problem.Originally Posted by andrewnick
Just take any existing bootable PS2 CD you have and insert it into your computer. Copy the SYSTEM.CNF file to your PC HDD, and edit it to replace the filename in the "BOOT2" entry with the filename you use for LaunchELF. Then use cdgenPS2 to place the altered SYSTEM.CNF and the ELF file in a CD image that you then burn to a physical CD-R disc.
If I remember correctly, that chip is only capable of booting from physical CD/DVD discs, so I guess that's one reason you are overly focused on that boot method. Most modern chips also allow direct booting from MC and (in some cases) HDD, and even without any chip you can still boot from MC (indirectly) by use of the independence exploit.Cant boot it at all anyone that knows how to boot it on ps2?ive written the elf file to a cd and nothing happens.i have a mesiah v7 chip.![]()
In fact the exploit may be a good alternative for you too, as it works just as well with a mod-chip as without any. I even use it myself sometimes, in testing compatibility of ELFs I make for use by others.
Best regards: dlanor
