Instead of replying directly to you guys posts then just let me see if I can get things straight now! Things are just getting more & more redundant with how things are being stated!
I'm gonna just report what's now happening with usage from both ps2client & RHC!
RHC(1.6 & 1.7): No viewing problems with files or folders, and no system crashes with ULE dating back to 4.08 even with the 'suspect folders'.
PS2ClientLoader(rev4): I'm getting the crashes with 4.08 beta's, 4.08 normal version is working fine with the files & folders but crashes when trying to view the 'suspect folders'. All else is working normally with ULE & it's other functions except the "Host" function. I've not tested out 4.09 & 4.11 due to the folders & files issue!
If I have been contradictory then I apologize but this is puzzling me to why I seem to be pinpointed as the only one to keep having these symptoms with ULE! I try to state things clearly but hey I'm human! I've d/l & tried so many ULE's lately(good thing) that I may state the wrong ULE version & some other things! I hope that I can be more clear to help you guys possibly in the futre with ULE! This may very well be a PC issue because I have different problems with different ULE versions! However, RadHostClient worked just fine for me on the testing that I done! I didn't do as fully a test with it as PS2ClientLoader because I want to use PS2ClientLoader instead as my client & not RHC! Anyhow, hopefully things can be more clear by me just stating here what does happen.
Could there be something on the PC leftover from a previous ps2client that may be causing issues? I only started using uLaunchelf starting with 3.79 & version 4.06 with the networking! I remember the first version(4.06) for networking was working just fine! I had no crashes nor viewing problems! Something is certainly wrong somewhere but what's to blame here? I don't know what else to check from the PC side of things! I don't want you guys to think that I'm making these things up either! This is what's happening & if it's a problem with the PC then that's fine but I'd like to get it figured out one way or another! I just don't know what to try next! I'm here to listen because you two guys know more about this than me! You have something you want me to try then feel free to throw it at me! Thanks guys!
I have now changed the root to be seen as "C:/" with RadHostClient & that worked well with that program & ULE! I am now using "C:" with PS2ClientLoader instead of "C:/". No changes are needed on that end of ps2client now! I have used "C:/WINDOWS" with both RHC & PS2ClientLoader & that's not a problem. I don't have any large files in the root of my partition because I've checked that out. I do have some large files in those 'suspect folders' though but that shouldn't be an issue with the partition! Thanks!I believe it was I before who mentioned that I too had a similar problem where folders were treated as files. You mentioned trying to open a folder and you said it kept saying, "This file isn't an ELF." I had this problem with radhostclient until I changed the "C:" to "C:/" and that fixed it. However, I still use the "C:" with ps2client, which has always worked fine for me.
I did try your elflist.txt file and didn't really have a problem with ps2client. You still may want to use "C:" instead of "C:\" otherwise you'll get "C://" when opening host:.
The only question I still have is whether you tried other directories like "C:/WINDOWS" or something else other than the root of the drive? Maybe you have an incredibly large file or a file that has a large filename in the root of the partition. Perhaps a file listing with all the attributes from commandline could be of some help here.
