I'd like to help you, but with the info you give that's impossible.Quote:

Else we'll get nowhere with this.
As you use exploit I assume you have no mod-chip. Is that correct ?
Do you have any other homebrew boot method available, apart from exploit, such as original (pressed) HDLoader discs, or original SwapMagic discs ?
Do you have more than one memory card, and if so do you get the same failure response with all of them ?
When last it worked, did you have any skins or LNG files active, and if so where were they stored ? On that same MC or on other media (USB/HDD) ?

hey
thanks for the reply mate
im using the no mod chip method, and personally, never had a problem since
iv got loads of elfs on my memory card, totaling up to 4.95mb
my sony memory card works fine with my games that are saved
iv got the orignial swap magic discs
and had been playing around with ulaunchelf.elf from my hdd, before it all went wrong
if anybody knows how to fix this, that would be great
im guessing iv gotta delete my exploit , and start a new one
which is not a major problem, but if any other way round this is possible then please share your ideas/experiences with me
thanks
Possibly you got some HDD specific settings into your main "LAUNCHELF.CNF" file on the memory card. Settings no longer valid if you removed one of the files refered to, which can cause lockup on future boots.Quote:

For one thing you can prepare a boot CD for uLE and use swap methods to launch it.
For another you can store uLE as "/SWAPMAGIC/SWAPMAGIC.ELF" on a USB device (either HDD or memory stick), and boot the SwapMagic disc with that USB device plugged into your PS2.
Either of those methods could run into trouble if you have somehow gotten garbage settings into "mc0:/SYS-CONF/LAUNCHELF.CNF". If that seems to be the case (ie: if the program starts but locks up after reading CNF), then make sure to include the default CNF, as supplied in distribution ZIPs.
Once you have some LaunchELF setup working again, you should be able to use that to repair the setup on your main memory card. And remember that LAUNCHELF.CNF is just a text file, so you can copy it to your PC for analysis in a normal text editor like 'notepad'.

thanks
i think i understand now
when i used the ulaunchelf.elf on my hdd
it changed the settings to read from the hdd instead of boot.elf on mc
well anyways
its best if i delete the 4.99mb of junk and wont use much till last
im gonna stick with ulaunchelf.elf as boot.elf
and just burn a cd-r of all other elfs
too much hassel for me really
thnx
