Hi,
i want to use the FTP Function of uLaunchELF instead of EXECFTPS 0.69.
What exactly do I need to do to be able to connect via FTP?
Thanks in advance
Alex
network adapter
Cross over cable or straight cable w/ router.
ulaunchelf
and FTP program such as flash fxp
thanks, i am not THAT noob
i am directly connecting from laptop to ps2.
network is set up
PC: 192.168.6.15
Ps2: 192.168.6.10
I start uLaunchELF,
then start MISC/Ps2net,
then i get a network established in windows (100Mbit)
uLaunchELF then writes to the upper left corner: Loading HDD Modules...
when i try to connect with total commander's FTP Function,
(anonymous, x@y.com)
i get a timeout.
ping 192.168.6.10 from cmd also results in 4x packet loss.
i am Using ULE3.75
thanks for any help,
rgds
Alex
lolol, ok m8, well u never know on these forums.
anyway, I assume u have made these settings in 'network' settings of uLE:
PS2 IP : 192.168.6.10
SUBNET : 255.255.255.000
GATEWAY : 192.168.6.15
am also assuming that u hve these in your network card config on your laptop:
PC IP : 192.168.6.15
SUBNET : 255.255.255.000
GATEWAY: Empty
and ofcourse, u have a cross over cable ?
And u opened up the port in your firewall ?
hi,
umm, yeah, seems you are right,
asumming my router is 192.168.6.1 i have the same in GAteway Entry in ULE.
i will change it to .15 and see what happens...
but it worked also with .1 in EXECFTPS.
Yes, same Setup (Crossovercable) works in EXECFTPS.
Port in Firewall? 21? is open by default.
thanks,
rgds
Alex
in a win xp version with SP2, port 21 is not open by defaut.
but u said u were connected directly, but now u are saying u use a router ?
i already thought so becuase your IP was 192.168.6.15.
anyway, it should look like this i guess.
PC
================
PC IP : 192.168.6.15
SUBNET : 255.255.255.000
GATEWAY: 192.168.6.1 (=routers IP)
PS2
====================
PS2 IP : 192.168.6.10
SUBNET : 255.255.255.000
GATEWAY : 192.168.6.1
that is IF your routers IP is 192.168.1.6
and u have to forward port 21 in your router ofcourse. U prolly did, but i just give the whole story while am at it
giving your PC a static IP address is also handy. Just pick an IP out of the routers DHCP range, an add it manually to your laptops network card.
dont forget to set DNS ip's also in your laptops network card settings, or else u wont have internet unless u use the wireless LAN card ofcoz.
good luck
thanks again,
no, the router is not between ps2 and laptop,
i just told the router story because my other devices are connected via the router (xbox).
port 21 for sure is open, as i also can connect to my xbox from any PC in my network.
how exactly do i start the FTP Server in ULE?
is it correct by clicking Ps2net?
thanks
alex
yes indeed. and then go to networks settings to setup the IP's. I have PS2 Net set as 'default' so it boots directly when Ule starts.
That's your business, but be aware that there are some risks in doing so, which is one of the reasons we never start servers by default.Originally Posted by broodje
If you launch an ELF which doesn't use IOP reset at startup, then all IOP drivers and programs that were active before that launch will also remain active after it, even if that conflicts with other usages and needs of that ELF.
So if you have activated the servers of uLaunchELF, those servers will still be running in IOP RAM after the new program has replaced uLaunchELF in EE RAM, and that may lead to various complications depending on what that program is doing. Some programs can't tolerate this at all. (eg: ExecFTPs)
So if you run into some weird compatibility problems with some ELFs, remember that the servers may play a part in that, and try booting without turning them on.

thanks mates,
i will test it all in the evening,
and give feedback
thanks, you are great!
