Hi everyone, I was doing an upgrade last night to the latest uLaunchELF from 3.41.

    First some info:
    PS2 v5
    DMS3
    FW: 2.4B6
Loader by Mode 1: LaunchELF 3.41 w/ all ELFS running from HDD

I used EXECFTPS and FlashFXP and I tried transfering the file to the memory card (Sony 8MB) but always fails to do so (also tried a couple of other Sony 8MB). I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but what is odd is that I could transfer the original LaunchELF without it causing any errors. I tried deleting the original and transfering the new one, or even overwriting the old one with the new one still have the same problem. I have never had a problem transfering other ELFs to the memory card and I tested HDL to see if it was just my connection, but they seem fine.

Also when I did finally get it (succeeded once) through and tried to load through DEV1 I get a black screen. After reading a few of the guides and documentation, it never goes into detail about troubleshooting issue before installation. If someone could shed some suggestions, or maybe methods of getting it to run it would be good. Not that I can't live without the upgrade, but I wanted to see the potential of the newer uLaunchELFs.

Your problems may be caused by bugs in old EXECFTPS (you didn't give version). If you can FTP to the HDD, use LaunchELF to copy from the HDD to MC. Or try the FTP server in LaunchELF 3.41 or HOST connection, or burn a CD.

Although I didn't have an issue with upgrading to the newest version of uLaunchELFs, I did have a problem once when trying to go back to an older version. In v3.41t and later, they added "CNF_version = 2.0" to LAUNCHELF.CNF at the beginning to detect what version of LAUNCHELF.CNF you are using.

What happened is I had v3.41s set as my BOOT.ELF on my MC, then I decided to test v3.41t from a different location. I guess what happened is when v3.41t loaded, it added the line "CNF_version = 2.0" to the default LAUNCHELF.CNF. This prevented anything older then v3.41t to work. So when I reset my PS2, it was trying to load the BOOT.ELF (v3.41s), and I was getting a black screen, or a bright purple screen everytime.

I had to install v3.41t to the HDD using Matrix Infinity's "Infinity DEV2 Installer v1.1" (my method of getting the exploit to the PS2), and then I made v3.41t the BOOT.ELF off my memory card. So although this may not be your problem, maybe it has something to do with your LAUNCHELF.CNF file being too old?

Hrmm, I will check that one, out, and as for the EXECFTP it is 0.68, since .69 seems to have issues with me, I will try a dev 2 install as well to see whats up.

there is an ftp server in ulaunchelf!?!?!
Starting PS2Net (in MISC) activates both the FTP server and Host protocal. The LaunchELF builtin FTP server is more user friendly and feature complete than EXECFTPS. The Host protocal gives maximal transfer speeds.
