....when booting from a cdr?
I have a modded ps2 and it's easier for me to boot from a cdr than my memory card. The only problem is that it doesn't save any settings and everytime that uLanchElf loads the screen is always way too far to the left and when I change the settings it always says failed to save, presumeably it's trying to save to the cd.
So I was wondering if there was anyway to run it from a CD but have an config/option file on my memory card.

can't you copy the LAUNCHELF.cnf to mc0:/SYS-CONF

You just need to make a disc without any LAUNCHELF.CNF file on it. Then the program will automatically look for the CNF in the folder "mc0:/SYS-CONF/".
Another good method is to place a LAUNCHELF.CNF file on the disc, but have it contain a default launch path to an MC folder, so that it will immediately (with minimum timeout in that CNF) start up another copy of uLaunchELF from that MC folder. The best part about this method is that you can replace the uLaunchELF version on the MC without having to make new boot discs every time. The drawback is of course that the total startup time will be a little longer, as you'll be making two launches instead of just one.
