That is probably the best way for you to do it then, though I urge you to try the assortment of old USB_mass drivers available in the uLE support file release thread. Some of these should be near identical to what you had in uLE v3.79, so they should work with your USB device, since that uLE version does so. (You choose external drivers in the "Startup Settings..." config menu, and must restart uLE to make such changes 'bite'.)

btw, do i have to take care of the byteflag-handling(mCopy,mPaste)
Games that use any testing of PS2-specific flags, or double-check consistency of timestamps (recording some in one of the gamesave files), will always refuse an FTP-transferred gamesave as invalid. And there is no practical way for you to 'take care' of this, other than by using a different backup method.
for Savegames when using ftp to backup Savegames, meaning ftp is of no use, in case, such a flag is set in a sg-file ?
I see no reason whatever why you would want to use FTP anyway, as it is the slower of the networking protocols available.
If you have a computer running some version of Windows, then you can run ps2client (preferably with a smart GUI like PS2ClientLoader) and use the HOST protocol to backup or restore gamesaves to/from some storage folder on your PC. You can then use the uLE FileBrowser to access that folder directly (through the host: device) and use the R1 menu commands 'Copy' + 'psuPaste' to transfer the gamesaves, which at the PC side will then take the form of one separate file per complete gamesave folder (including all the files inside it). Restoration of such gamesaves, again using the psuPaste command but in reverse direction, will automatically restore the original file/folder attributes and timestamps of all gamesave components.
I'm sorry to hear it, as this implies that those Kingston drives are still incompatible. That brand always has been one of the most inconsistent ones and I don't have any to experiment with myself, so I'm unlikely to crack that case...
no difference to uLE 4.35
It shouldn't and especially not assuming that you have IOP reset configured ON (as is default, and as it should be).
is it possible, that uLE 3.79 uses the preloaded USB-drivers of SWAPMAGIC ?
Best regards: dlanor
I got this thing working now with V4.36.
Using fixed,older USB-drivers (June 2008)
Start LaunchElf from Memcard.
I can live with both of that, but i will also test future uLe-Versions with default-settings for USB-Decives
Thx for helping me getting some better understanding, it helped me a lot.
Now I'm managing/backing up my MC with uLE on USB.
And i got SMS with SharedFolders on PC working, connected wia lan-router, which is way more faster than playing/scanning mediafiles via this shitty USB1.1-Port.
Thx(especially to dlanor) and regards, wolf
btw,is someone working on playing/loading games (like HDadvance) directly from network (it's way faster than USB)
