Problems with PS2Client

Hi dlanor, EP, Polo, and greetings to all other PS2Devers, of course.

I just recently started to dig into ps2deving a bit. So far I took every hurdle. I installed a propper version of cygwin, managed to build the toolchain myself, and everything is compiling just fine. Even uLE.:) And I can build a perfect working version of ps2client from the official sources too.

But I have one problem with the PS2Client rev2 for uLE. It comliles just fine, and it works good, despite of one little aspect. uLE and SMS can't read the elflist.txt correctly anymore. They consider all folders in there as files.:crazy: (I tried \ and / ) Which gives me the "This file isn't ELF" message in uLE, when I try to access the folders.
I really tried each single variation, from compiling the sources from the PS2Clientrev2foruLE.zip, to merging the latest sources from svn with the changes from the sources folder of the uLEv3.86 release and compiling those.
No matter what I try, I always end up with a ps2client.exe (size=33.44KB)(PS2Clientrev2=44.98KB) that lacks the ability to share folders with the elflist.txt.

I think I can. You see, I didn't use Cygwin to compile this program.
Instead I used another development package called MinGW (MSYS version).
If you check my readme closely you will find a brief reference to this.

I hoped modifying the ps2link.c would solve all compile problems.

Guess i'll have to install MinGW then. Hope I can get that to work too.

I haven't tried compiling ps2client with dlanors changes. It's one of the few things I haven't tried to compile. Radhost is what I usually use and it too has dlanor?s changes.

As for minGW, I only use a light cygwin install. Most Linux people don't recommend minGW do to compatibility problems they have experienced in the past.

Yeah, I use RHC too, cause it's much more convenient. With the drag and drop and so.
But I wanted to try the autops2client, which looks nice too. So that's why I messed with ps2client.
And after I had those troubles, compiling it, I just wanted to make sure it's no faulty cygwin installation on my side.

And there's one thing about ps2client, that still bothers me.
If you share a subfolder, you're still able to browse the whole harddrive.
That's another reason why I use RHC.
