    @kyuu,

    mmmh ...

    Do you have another memory card to try or can you try it with a fresh formatted MC ?
    Only to prevent misunderstanding, you have inserted your MC in slot 0 of PS2, right ?

    Yes it was the Slot 0, and I tried it with 2 different Memory Cards.
    Can try it again with a formatted one.

    BTW:
    Its the v16 PS2(79004)

    I have followed the instructions for this modification to the tee, I have also altered some of the ELF files and have used 6 different USB Drives and 3 Memory cards. It works all the way up to the second time of going into the MAX MEMORY program where it shows a red border and freezes. Details are below.

    AR MAX 3.70 NTSC (Non Evo purchased 2009)
    USB Drives : 2GB Sandisk Cruizer, 4GB Sandisk, 2GB Patriot MEMORY USB Drive, 3 2GB Kingston.
    PS2 Slim - 75x Series
    Memory Cards : 1 Sony 8MB, 1 Datel 16MB.

    I have followed all steps stringently, including the creation and use of :

    Custom Crushed ARMAX Settings Save
    ALL Packages that are found in this thread
    Mix and Match of packages in this thread in all possible ways stringently possible (<-- 6 hours to do that lol)

    When using non NTSC methods it freezes right after reboot of ARMAX on the datel loading screen this was expected as it is not the proper package.

    When using the NTSC 3.60 Package(s) it freezes right after attempting to reboot with a black screen.

    When attempting to use the NTSC 3.70 method it freezes at the MAX MEMORY after reboot.

    I am assuming as this is not the EVO edition that the codes used against AR itself will vary and are not present on this string. I am willing to put the time into creating these codes if someone wants to help or explain the methods used to create them to me.

    I can not get md5sum to work properly on my Win7 box and will attempt to create a hash value of the disc on my UNIX box tonight if it is needed and edit this post to include it.

    I am also willing to host the files on my private server so as not to have a dead link in a month as I see some links in these forums have XD.

    Thank you in advance for any help that you can give and if not thank you for at least reading my plea for help.

    TTYL,
    Ambedrake Rashke

    @ambedrake:
    Since I never used the precise methods described in this thread I can't help you with those details, but I can give you some generic advice to point you in the right direction:

    The basic problem seems to be that you don't know for sure that you are using exactly the same discs as used by those who wrote the examples and tutorials for these methods.

    Since these cheat codes will modify executable code, you must have exactly the same release version of the disc the cheats are applied to. Even having the same version number might not guarantee exactly the same file content, so it must be exactly the same physical release batch. If even a single extra "nop" instruction has been inserted in your file, then all subsequent code will be shifted forward, causing patch locations of the cheat codes to be wrong, and then the code is likely to crash/freeze when executed.

    Best regards: dlanor

    OK So I do not know if this worked correctly but I ran md5sums on my AR MAX disc and it came up with :

    ce338fe6899778aacfc28414f2d9498b

    EDIT :

    Sorry I misunderstood the MD5 hash required. my SLUS_200.90 is the EXACT match to the MD5 of the last 3.70 disc located on the tutorial (pg 3) in this thread!

    So now that I know it is one of the tested ones does anyone have any ideas on what is going on that is stopping the codes. Apparently though the model is SCPH-70012. Hmm I will do more testing and probing but any ideas please let me know XD

    @ambedrake,

    if you really have build 13080 (MD5:c64fe1d2a604edc78f116d4178815874) then you can try this package. The only different to the version above is the max file - there is no UlaunchELF inside.

    This morning I got my action replay EVO in the post. I was really excited to use the media player to install FMCB.. but it wasnt included! I was stuck. I only had a ps2slim so couldnt do the ps1 trick, either. Gutted.

    After like an hour or two of googling and reading around, I found this thread.
    What can I say - THANKYOU! Seriously you guys are gods and have done a great thing for the community. I was just so relived when I got it working I HAD to show my appreciation to you all.

    Thank you.
