I've just read through that huge 2 page thread and i have no idea what I'm suppose to do.
I have an idea on how to transfer and loads ELFs after loading uLaunchELF, but I have no idea on how to actually put it on the MC or a USB FAT32 drive.
I have my PS2 connected to my PC through cross-over.
V14 Slim with CC1.1
I can access BootManager where it allows me to launch applications from USB and stuff.
Just connect your USB drive to your PC and use it to copy the ELF where you want it, and then connect it to your PS2 and start that ELF. With your stuff that's all you need do. The more complex examples are for people with less capable chips, or none at all.Quote:

Btw: I'm not really familiar with your chip, or its boot manager, but I assume it will allow you to browse to whatever ELF file you want, and simply launch it. (Much like I can do with my DMS4pro with Toxic firmware.)
You may also prefer to install the ELF on memory card, so you can use it independently of the USB drive (when you need that connected to PC). In such cases I recommend using the compressed ELF instead (BOOTc.ELF). That's exactly the same program, just compressed with an unpacker stub added. You can treat it like the other ELF file, except that it takes up less space.
Also, unless you include a LAUNCHELF.CNF (you can use the one supplied in the release) in the same folder as the ELF, then it will want to save future CNF files to mc0:/SYS-CONF/ (if/when you use the CONFIG menu and exit with OK, the command to save CNF). By adding such a file to the same folder as the ELF, you force the program to keep using that folder. The choice is up to you.
Once you get started I'm sure you'll realize that it isn't very complex at all.
At least not for people using a capable mod-chip.

How would I transfer to MC incase my USB drive isn't compatible?
I dont know a USB that is incompatible. Be sure that it's formatted FAT32.
As long as u have a crossover cable u can use FTP server (PS2NET) build in uLaunchELF to access ur PC with flash FXP.
U have to configure correclty the IP adress of the gateway and PC in ULE.

Well, since you have a mod-chip you can always make a bootable CD-R, so do that with BOOT.ELF from the uLaunchELF release as the program booted by "SYSTEM.CNF". (And if you don't know how to make a bootable CD, please try to find some info yourself, because this has been described 'umpteen million' times before, for various programs).Quote:

The problem is my modchip can't recognize CD-R ATM so I'm trying to load ELFs to try to reflash it.

Damn, I just transfered it over to my USB FAT32 512MB drive and when I goto run application, BM doesn't see it :(
ok, can i ask a dumb question? i cant get my ps2 to recongize my usb drive (pny attache 128 mb) and i also am confused about which ulaunchelf file to transfer to the drive. im doing this so i can see the hot coffee scenes in GTA:SA. also, is ulaunchelf the same as mcpaste?
With ur pendrive in your PC, right click on it, format to FAT32, not only FAT.
uLaunchELF is a launcher, file browser, etc programm.
