the ps2 will read the packed elf files just fine. it does on the fly decompressing. just install uLE with FMCB and you will be fine. and please use the search function.

If You will pack already packed *.elf size will increase. ;]

There are a few programs could do this in different way. Easiest is PS2 Packer/Unapcker.

Most of programs are already packed include HDL, uLE, SMS etc.

Thanks Berion I did not know that. A little bit odd. Still wants to ask since I'm not very good at these stuff. What is the best then a packed or unpacked, pros or cons. And on a straight arm, how many of already existing ELFs are packed in a percetage would you estimate.

All actually updating programs are packed.

Why We packed programs? Because they are smaller and take less free space on i.e memory card. Sometimes that's compression could be very, very handy. Defects? More space in ram (for decompression program) but it's unecessary I think (im not a programmer, maybe someone will deny my words ;]).

For example Code Breaker...when unpacked it will take ~18mb of memory card space if you pace it in your memory card but if you pack it it will take ~3mb
