First off all sorry if This is not where it should be. I'm a total noob when it comes to ulaunch and forums. Anyway back to business, I have Free mcBoot on my v9 ps2 and configured to run ulaunch automatically because i have it skinned. Now I'm trying to set up Misc/PS2Browser to be able to go to the ps2 screen where you view memory card contents, but when done it just reloads Free McBoot which in turn sends me back to ulaunch. How can I get from ulaunch to the ps2 screen desired without using filebrowser/m0:/?
Another thing is does Misc/PS2Poweroff work because when i use it all it does is sort of reset ulaunch?

This is pretty normal behaviour because you set FMCB to autolaunch uLE.

So you stuck in a loop when trying to get to the PS2 browser. You have to deactivate this to get a normal behaviour back.

Why do you want to watch your MC with original PS2 browser ? uLE gives you better features for copying and backing up savegames.

For the poweroff problem i can't give an accurate answer but i believe on some model that didn't work properly. Maybe setup hast to be changed to work.

Thanks for the reply. the thing is that a skin I installed has these options on the menu but when i press the button I get the undesired result I mentioned earlier. Since I don't really know much about any of this I wanted to know if that was normal operation or another one of my screw-ups.
Guess i'll see in the skin section if i can figure out how to edit the skin to eliminate these options and add others.

When FMCB has been configured to auto-run uLE, then it is quite normal for FMCB to do this whenever it is launched, regardless of how that happens, including the MISC/PS2Browser command of uLE.

However, whenever FMCB is launched you can override its default behaviour by holding a configured launch button during the display of the FMCB splash screen.

Guess i'll see in the skin section if i can figure out how to edit the skin to eliminate these options and add others.
I suggest that you don't do this, but instead do what I have done for the cases where I want to visit the FMCB menu. (Normally I boot directly to uLE, just like you.)

What you do is simply to launch the "Free McBoot Configurator", which you can do from the uLE FileBrowser by first browsing to "mc0:/SYS-CONF/" and there launching the file named "FMCB_CFG.ELF". This will bring you to the FMCB configurator menu which uses methods similar to the uLE configurator, so you should be able to navigate it.

Here you give the command "Configure E1 launch keys..." to bring up a submenu where you can step a pointer cursor to the button entry you wish to change (I used the Triangle button). With the pointer at that entry you could use 'Circle' to select a file for that button, much as you would in the uLE configurator, but that is not what you need to do this time. Instead you should press the 'Select' button so as to set one of the alternate 'Special START' links. The one you want is named "OSDMENU", so press the 'Select' button until that word appears for the chosen entry.

Next you just press the triangle button to exit from the submenu and then use the command "Save CNF to MC0" (assuming you have the MC in the first slot).

The setup changes are then complete and ready for use as follows:

Next time you have booted into uLE and want to visit the FMCB menu, just push+release whatever command button you had set for "PS2Browser" in uLE, and then wait for the FMCB splash screen to appear. As soon as you see the splash, press down on the triangle button and hold it pressed down until the splash disappears and then release it. FMCB should then display its menu without going to uLE, just like you wanted to be able to do.

This way you have the best of two worlds, normally booting directly into the skinned uLE environment, but still with the ability to use all FMCB features.

    Best regards: dlanor

Thanks a lot dlanor that worked like a charm. It is the best of two worlds.

by chance you wouldn't know why Misc/PS2Poweroff doesn't power off my ps2

I bet he has a fat ps2 without the na attached it happens to me too when I don't have it connected, I don't think it's a problem for slim users since the na is already part of the pcb.
