    I was directed to trusty old PSX-scene Specifically dlanor if he isn't too busy to answer this.
    Is there a way to disable the file copy message that asks if you want to continue? Have plenty of space and would like to be able to walk away and cook or something while I'm copying. Thank you for your time. Sorry if this is a stupid question to ask.
    PS2 V7 = Exploit, 320GB Seagate HD.
    Wii = Softmodded+BootMii Boot2
    PS3 = Caught on fire..
    XBOX360 = Unmodded
    Nintendo DSI XL = Unmodded

    Not at all.

    Is there a way to disable the file copy message that asks if you want to continue?
    No. And implementing it could destroy files in many situations.

    Have plenty of space and would like to be able to walk away and cook or something while I'm copying. Thank you for your time. Sorry if this is a stupid question to ask.
    Not stupid as such, since you have clearly missed the intent and purpose of that popup. It only appears for two cases:

    1: Someone has pushed a button on the controller, thereby saying that the user wants control of the process, which he then gets through the popup.

    2: Some error has occurred at the destination, or in transfers to/from it, causing the destination to refuse the file. The popup then allows the copying to be canceled, leaving both source and destination as they were before (unless the destination cleanup fails). One of the most common errors is simply that the media is full.

    Case 2 above is where you could lose data permanently, if you were to use a 'Cut' + 'Paste' operation, and got no warning when the destination stopped writing new data.

    If you get the popup frequently when nothing is wrong at the destination, and you are not using the controller, then I think a thorough controller cleaning is called for. Another possible cause for false button presses is if you have a USB keyboard, and have left some object on top of it. (The keyboard works as a third controller in uLE.)

    If I have misunderstood which popup you asked about, then please post again to clarify what you meant.

    Best regards: dlanor

    Thanks for the clear concise answer. That is indeed the message "Do you want to continue". the files always copy right, when I select ok. I used a new controller to testa nd it still does it, and I don't have a keyboard for my ps2. I do understand your position, if it's dangerous then I'll drop it. I just wanted to be able to copy from ym 512 pen drive to the 10 GIG partition on my HD. Wanted to add some video files.

    That's very strange, since the ONLY things that will cause that popup to appear are controller button usage and real IO errors in the copying, as reported by the read and write functions.

    I do understand your position, if it's dangerous then I'll drop it.
    I disagree. You should follow up on this to find the real error. Because there must be one, given the popup behaviour. But of course, your original request to have the popup removed was dropped by me as soon as I saw the question. This is a safety popup that must remain.

    I just wanted to be able to copy from ym 512 pen drive to the 10 GIG partition on my HD. Wanted to add some video files.
    I don't see why that should be any problem, except that some uLE versions may have problems with files around 4GB in size. But normally I don't bother placing big video files on the PS2, since it is much more effective to view them streamed over LAN from the PC I have that video collection on.

    Here are some questions whose answers may help clarify the situation:

    How frequently does the popup appear (on average) ? (2/min, 1/min, 1/2min etc)

    Is the popup appearance regular or random ?

    Are you sure that neither the HD nor the pen drive can be responsible for any error messages ?

    Have you tried copying between other media, to see if the popup behaves similariliy then ?

    What uLE version are you using ? (v4.12 is recommended)

    Best regards: dlanor

    Ok to answer in order:
    It seems to occur once every minute or so (Around per 15 MB copied Time) and at regular intervals.. not exactly random.
    Tried 2 different pen drives, my Cruzer Micro, and My Max Drive 16MB both do it. Tried it with 2 drives as well, a 160GB maxtor, and a 320 Seagate. Both were on the compatible drive list for PS2.
    Only other media would be CD/DVD, and I can never figure out how to make my own that is readable in a ps2 lol...
    Also these files aren't huge.. between 30-200 MB.. maily music videos.

    This seems to exclude drive errors.

    Reading home-burnt discs requires modchip, but you don't need to use home-burnt discs. Any PS1 or PS2 game disc will do, CD or DVD.

    And you do have yet another medium, perhaps the most important one, though you clearly haven't configured it for use yet. I'm talking about LAN, accessible in the uLE FileBrowser as "host:" .

    And you forgot to answer one of the questions in my llist, which is what uLE version you use, but for the moment I'll assume that's v4.12, like it should be.

    Also these files aren't huge.. between 30-200 MB.. maily music videos.
    File size should not be a factor, except that a big file allows longer term single file testing.

    Checking up on the phrases used by uLE I find that the precise phrasing we agreed on earlier ("Do you want to continue") does not exist in the program... This implies two things: My memory was not very good about that, and your skill in detailed reporting hit rock bottom, since you said it matched the popups you got exactly.

    So this time I ask you to write down exactly what you see inside the popup rectangle, letter by letter, including punctuation, and post this next time. This will help me determine what is going on.

    Best regards: dlanor

    Wow you're right, I've beta tested many things and that mentalityl totally slipped me, sorry about that. The message is "Continue transfer ?" then OK and Cancel.
    Also yes, it's 4.12
    You mentioned lan, do I need a crossover cable for that? And what programs would I need on my pc to access that? I'm more than willing to try.

    *Edit*
    It's actually a little over each 12 MB mark that it comes up.
    Did it at 12MB transferred, 24 MB Transferred, then 37MB.

    I had this problem a while ago. I just happened to look at the ULE config file in a text editor & noticed that I had an identical line that appeared twice in the file. Not thinking this was the problem, but thinking it wasn't correct, I deleted the extra line & no more "Do You Want To Continue" error.
    Can't remember what line it was & I don't know if it was the cause or if it was just a coincidence, but it is worth a look.

    Maybe it was the fact that i resaved the config file that did it?
