UPDATE: I put the save files on my iPod 5th Gen, and to my suprise, the program detected the ipod beautifully on disk mode, and all my saves are working. MUCH KUDOS to the team who made uLaunchELF. I am also having fun playing the SNES emulator on my PS2.

Wowww.... so much to this PS2 that I had no idea about. Thanks PS2-Scene for your Search feature.

Using - Swap Magic 3.6, PS2 Ghost mod, 8x burning speeds for CDs, 4x for DVDs.

The software I am using is the ISO in this thread.

    Here is what I did.

I burned 3 folders with the 3 items in each one. Each folder is labeled according to the games I am using.

In this example, I'll use DDR STR!KE.

I burned a CD that contained a folder called ddrstrkJP. Within that folder were 3 Files
    • BISLPM-66242system
    • output.ico
    • icon.sys

    ____

I insert the Swap Magic disc in the ps2, and boot up uLaunchELF from that ISO I burned. Everything seems to be working fine.

I take out the disc, and put in the CD that I just burned with the DDR STR!KE memory card data in.

Then I navigate to the memcard0 folder thing, and add the correct folder in there (BISLPM-66242system)

so I think the path should be like mem0:/BISLPM-66242system/ so far.

Now I go back to the main listing of data compontments, and choose the burned CD with the memory card data. I get in the folder, and then copy the BISLPM-66242system file.

I navigate back to the memory card folder I just made, and paste it using the "paste" function, not the "mcpaste" or w/e that function is.

I do the same with the other 2 files.

Once that is done copying, I turn off my PS2.

I take out the disc, and put back swap magic.

I swap out swap magic with DDR STR!KE, and boot it up.

    "JAPANESE TEXT HERE"

Assumed that it says "Data is corrupted on the memory card, continue with game?"

Keep going through the game to find that none of the new songs are unlocked (the whole point of the save is to get the new songs unlocked.)

Turn off the ps2, and reboot with no CD/DVD in it so I can go to the browser and check out the memory card. It turns out there is a corrupted file on there, and that is probably the savefile I tried to make.

Sorry for this post being so long, but what am I doing wrong? Can you not od this with a data-containing CD? I'm attaching the folders and what not so you guys can see what I'm doing.

DDRSTRIKEMAX = The .max save I used. I extracted the 3 files using the ps2save program.

DDRSTRIKFOLDER = Folder I burned onto a blank CD.

    uLaunchELF v3.60 BootCD = Self-Explanatory.

    Thanks ~_~

I haven't really had a good look at that ISO myself (I'm not involved in its production), though I have downloaded it now after reading your post. But as yet I have no reason to suspect anything wrong with it, though I will check it out anyway.

I'm not sure yet what exactly is causing your problem, but one of the most common issues when copying files via CD is that people often use software (eg: CDGenPS2) which change the spelling of files and folder names, from using mixed character case to using upper case only. On the PS2 character case is always significant, so please doublecheck that the names are correct in this respect, by inspecting the save folder on MC with uLaunchELF.

Some better ways (and cheaper in the long term) of moving files from PC to PS2 are to use USB storage devices or networking. Either way will allow convenient transfer of files without character case problems.

    Best regards: dlanor

    Post updated. Problem solved.

I still have yet to found the issue on why the CD was causing the errors, but I could care less. After seeing that japanese text load the save for the first time without a confirmation screen, I nearly creamed myself.

thanks for trying to help out, though. Sorry I kinda wasted your time >.<

EDIT: I guess you were going to point me in the right direction, too. So thanks for doing so.
